Danny is a 2.5yo Catahoula X. He currently lives with his foster mom and canine foster siblings. He also gets to socialize often in a doggie daycare setting.

Danny is house trained. He has separation anxiety and is working on perfecting his crate training and struggles when left alone -- he will be looking for a home where someone is home the majority of the time. He is doing really well on his training and learning all of the hand signals he needs to know. Danny is deaf, so he needs to use visual cues to learn.

Danny is good with confident dogs that won't let him push them around, but can be overbearing with less confident dogs, and would not be suitable in a home with cats or small animals. Due to his anxiety and nervousness around quick movement, Danny would not be a fit for a home with young kids. A confident, balanced, calm canine companion would be a great fit for Danny.

Danny can be nervous and uncomfortable around strangers. Danny's foster mom advocates for him strongly in social settings so that he's comfortable -- for example, she makes sure that people aren't approaching Danny without asking first as he gets startled when he doesn't know someone is coming up to him (and rightfully so!). He would not do well at big gatherings such as family BBQs, or going into dog-friendly stores. Danny prefers a low-activity environment with his family and a consistent routine. He will need a family who can keep up with his training and continue to provide structure and boundaries in his life.

Here's what Danny's foster mom has to say about him:

"Danny does well in his routine with his people, and has already come a long way in his training. He loves to stick close to his canine foster sisters, and would benefit from going to a home with a confident canine to help show him the ropes and teach him manners! Danny is a great dog once he has settled into his home, understands the routine, and has a lot of structure and boundaries. He will be an incredible addition to his new furever family, and will teach them twice as much as they teach him!"

Adoption Fee: $400

Vetting: Danny is fully vetted and on seasonal heartworm preventative. He is deaf, but all that changes is how you communicate with him.
