Danny - PENDING ADOPTION
Danny is 1yo Catahoula X. He currently lives with his foster mom, human kids and canine foster siblings. He also gets to socialize often in a doggie daycare setting.
Danny is fully house trained. He is working on perfecting his crate training and struggles when left alone -- he will be looking for a home where someone is home the majority of the time. He is doing really well on his training and learning all of the hand signals he needs to know. Oh ya! Danny is a bit hard-of-hearing, so he needs to use visual cues to learn. Don't think for a second that being deaf slows Danny down -- he can keep up with all of his canine foster siblings like a pro.
Danny loves his dog-savvy human kids. They play and work on their training together, and he is good at responding to corrections. He is very social with both humans and fellow dogs!
Danny's foster mom advocates for him strongly in social settings so that he's comfortable -- for example, she makes sure that people aren't approaching Danny without asking first as he gets startled when he doesn't know someone is coming up to him (and rightfully so!). He will need a family who can keep up with his training and continue to provide structure and boundaries in his life.
Here's what Danny's foster mom has to say about him:
"Danny is a fantastic dog. He gets along with everyone he meets and has already come a long way in his training. He loves to follow the kids around and sticks close to his foster brother, Bruce -- he would do well in a home with another confident canine to help show him the ropes and teach him manners! Danny will be an incredible addition to his new furever family, and will teach them twice as much as they teach him!"
Adoption Fee: $400
Vetting: Danny is fully vetted and on seasonal heartworm preventative. He is deaf, but all that changes is how you communicate with him. He is still an extremely normal dog who can do anything he sets his mind to!
Danny is being fostered in Delhi, ON.
