Halifax - PENDING ADOPTION

Halifax is a 1yo Husky X. He currently lives with his foster dad in an apartment.

Halifax is crate and house trained. He is great with people, big and small; any attention he can get, he's here for it. He loves them so much, he sometimes forgets his manners and will jump up to greet them, so 'four on the floor' is becoming his new life motto.

Halifax walks well on leash and generally whines out of excitement when he sees other dogs passing by on his walks; he just wants to be friends with them all (of course, proper introductions are important for all dog-to-dog greetings). His zig-zag zoomies kick in when he sees squirrels and other small animals -- though he could coexist with a cat in the house, slow introductions (and patience during the learning process) would be a must.

Halifax is very affectionate. He would do wonderfully in a home with another dog he could play and learn from! He is curious and playful and has TONS of puppy energy. He will greatly benefit from structured training with his new furever home to keep him on track to becoming the best companion he can be.

Here's what Halifax's foster dad has to say about him:

"Halifax is a calm and sweet-natured boy. He loves to be with his people and enjoys his time outdoors equally. He has a lot of playful puppy energy that needs an outlet he would make a great running/hiking companion or an agility dog. He would love a home with a fur sibling as he loves to play with other dogs."

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

-Good with dogs

-Unknown cats

-Unknown with children, likely good

-OK in crate, goes in on command but takes a few minutes to settle

-Pulls a bit on leash, walks loose leash on transitional leash

-Mild interest in other dogs on walks, but mostly ignores them. Passing a cat, Halifax perked his ears up but was otherwise uninterested.

-Low energy level, calm disposition.

-Independent but affectionate

Adoption Fee: $400

Vetting: Halifax is fully vetted and on seasonal heartworm preventative. He has no known health concerns.

Halifax is being fostered in Waterloo, ON.

**WHAT IS 'INTAKE HOLD?'**

Our new dogs are on an INTAKE HOLD. We will accept applications and emails from approved adopters, however, we do not know enough about them to make any matches at this time. Thank you in advance for your patience as we get to know their personalities in order to find the best matches for our dogs and adopters, alike!
