Junior  (M) is a 6 year old Bulldog X. He is currently living as an only-pet in an apartment in Toronto.

Junior is house and crate trained. He is currently having some issues with urinary incontinence that is being managed by wearing a belly band while we explore medical diagnosis and options.  Junior can sometimes whine or bark in his crate if he hears noise, but does well most of the time.

Junior is very reactive to other dogs and has not been able to be introduced to other dogs yet. He has been to training classes and is doing well with his training, and has been able to successfully participate in a group setting calmly coexisting with other dogs working closely with their handlers. He has not met any dogs in care yet. Junior lived with a cat in his previous home, however we do not have any details about their relationship.

Junior LOVES his people and lives to please them! He can be reserved when meeting new strangers on walks, but quickly becomes friendly with company visiting. He is very gentle with everybody and has met children in the building he lives in and was very calm and let them pet him. He loves pets and cuddles from his people!

Junior has a great food drive and lives  to please his people! He knows all his basic commands, sit, down, stay, place, crate, speak, paw and high five! He is working on his leash reactivity and making progress but he will need a furever home that continues to work with him to be the best version of himself.

Junior is a typical American Bully and can be very stubborn so he will need a firm and confident handler to work with him. If he feels like he can push his weight around he will. He loves car rides and adventures, but dislikes baths and will hop out if given the opportunity.

This is what his foster mom has to say about him:
"Junior is a wonderful dog who has just had a rough go of it. He is lovely and sweet and for the most part very calm. He does need a firm hand because he can be stubborn so his forever home will need to be firm with him but he will love you so much more for it. He is incontinent but wearing a diaper (belly band) around the house without issue (it is not worn to bed while he is in his create). He really is a very sweet dog, keeps to himself and love pets and cuddles.

Other than his reactivity he is a dream. He is so willing to please and doesn't want to do things that might make you upset. Working through the reactivity one day at a time - trying to time is walks/outings at times when there is minimal chance of running into other dogs just so he isn't overloaded with a bunch of them. Working on building trust and training in my hallway and basement as once he gets outside there are too many distractions to working our way up!

I live in an apartment and while Junior does bark at times (really loud noises or knocks on the door) he is typically very quiet (so quiet in fact he often ninjas around if I let him roam and might end up on furniture if you are not paying attention to him). He will respond when you tell him off but that bully stubbornness comes out and he will just stare at you for a bit before sliding (and I mean sliding) off the couch. He would do great with more obiedience classes even just to create that bond and build the trust he needs so that he calms down on walks and knows the human is in charge. We are working on threshold training and most of the time he understands that he needs to wait for my ok before going through a door but sometimes he gets excited and wants to go! Easily corrected when he does it but needs more practice.

He is a bit sassy sometimes - like he will try and 'talk' to you if you aren't doing something he wants. Very easily corrected with a 'No' or 'Wrong' but its cute. He also acts a bit like a cat - if he does ever sneak up on my couch he wants to sit on the back of it like a cat (maybe to be able to see out the window I don't know) but I thought it was a bit weird! lol"
