Mandatory Training: All Taffy's Legacy dogs requires a home that can commit to their training with a professional trainer to set dogs up for success. We have partnered with Training Dogs Online to give Taffy's Legacy adopters 50% off to their lifetime program, however we can also recommend other great local or online programs. Adoptions will not be finalized till we have proof of signing up with a training program that we approve of.

Darius is one of the Dover Dozen that were picked up by Hillside Kennels Animal Control. He was found abandoned with a number of his siblings, some of which are still available through Hillside! We are still learning more about Darius, this is what we know so far. Darius is currently being fostered in Delhi, ON.
First impressions:
Strangers: Friendly, outgoing, and likes to jump up.
Dogs: Friendly, respectful, submissive, and wiggly.
Cats: Curious but respectful.
Kids: Not completely tested, but he briefly met a 1.5 year old and was not phased by her.
Crate: When he gets worked up, he is not able to self soothe yet. The first two nights were pretty rough, but on night 3, he slept through the night and has been much quieter in his crate. Darius has been clean in his crate.
Leash: He is not a big puller thus far. He does wander all over the place, so he will need a bit of direction/guidance.
Resources: Limited exposure has shown any issues with people or other dogs thus far.
Confidence: He approaches new environments and situations in a bit of a calm, submissive state, but isn't overly fearful.
Energy Level: Darius is an older puppy who, for his age, is actually quite low energy. We consider him to be medium energy at this time because he doesn't know how to self soothe and relax.
Affection: He is extremely affectionate and would actually much prefer snuggles to food.
Car Skills: We have not yet had an opportunity to assess this.
Health: Darius is in good health, neutered, up to date on getting and ready to find a home of his own.
Behavioural: We do not see any concerning behaviour from him. His temperament is beautiful and we'd consider him that of a doofus lab personality.
Training: Training has been slow thus far as he really takes very little interest in food. He sticks close by his people, loves affection as a reward, but we will work on building food drive over the coming weeks.
