Fostering

 

One of the MOST rewarding ways to help any rescue group is fostering. All of our dogs are in foster homes and need structure, training, and great photos to help get adopted! As a foster home, you get to care for the dog and watch him/her blossom into a star and be adopted by a perfect family!

 

Fostering is a wonderful experience for you and your family. The most rewarding experience is watching a dog grow from a confused canine on intake into being a confident, happy, and trained companion! Fostering may be beneficial for individuals who are unable to commit financially or long term but seek canine companionship.  Foster dogs provide companionship and purpose. Your act of kindness is repaid in rewards that are beyond words.

 

Foster parents provide a home, basic training, exercise and love for the dog. The rescue will provide you with all food, supplies and vetting needed throughout your foster experience including but not limited to collar, leash, bowls, crates and blankets. Toys, beds, and treats are not regularly donated and will be up to the foster parent to provide if desired. All of our foster homes have free access to an online training program to help provide structure and training to new dogs. We are always here to support our foster homes and set them up for success with all the challenges that come with fostering. 

 

Some of the responsibilities include:

 

• Assist with training such as socialization, house training, providing structure, obedience and manners. Your efforts will help the foster dog become adoptable and successful in their forever home.

• Evaluating the dog to assist TLC in matching them to the most suitable forever home.

• Take your foster dog to the vet when required, for check ups or surgery (TLC covers ALL vet costs through our designated Veterinarians).

• Attend functions and TLC meet ups when possible.

• Care for the foster dog in accordance with our foster agreement.

• Send our Social Media Coordinator daily/ weekly photos and updates to share with our followers.
